HOW TO MAKE MONEY WORKING FROM HOME

I have decided to start writing an ebook and some articles for my small business www.simplemanagementtools.com site. I started this website because several years ago as a small business owner I had to develop tools and templates in order to manage day to day compliance and business records.

What I discovered was that at the time there wasn't much out there that was suitable for SMALL business - most of what was on the net THEN was for national or multi-nationals companies. Since then I have been working from home and have developed new tool and templates as my business has changed from offline bricks and mortar to online. Client call tracking and sales process plans have replaced alot of the safety compliance (although I still use the safety gear for some consulting work).

Here is an outline of what I will be writing about and a summary of the first article:

How to Make Money Working from Home

Chapter 6:
MOTIVATION …………………………. Ahh, this is where it gets tricky…….

Several days later…..

My daughter Maddie and I went down to Sydney for the Mal Emery ‘s Silent Killer 2008 conference on Internet business. It was a fantastic event with 18 speakers over 3 days. The content was generous and informative. We both wrote page after page of notes even though we knew the Cds were available. I didn’t want to forget anything.

One of the most remarkable things I saw was Sean Roach’s new Enterprise. Rip2It is a fantastic idea that reflects my thinking of how a community would work. I truly allowed myself to be swept along by the speakers and their entertaining presentations. Some things happened (Derek Gehl and Vegemite), that made us laugh so hard we had tears rolling down our cheeks. It didn’t matter that breaks were short because everyone was excited to get back in the room and learn the next.

My muscles were so sore from holding onto the boat. We get so used to hanging onto something so hard for so long, that letting go is more painful that keeping our hands tightly clenched. That is something Paul Blackburn demonstrated to us in Sydney during the Daryl and Andrew Grant, Our Internet Business Conference.

Daryl and Andrew Grant were there in Sydney to present a way of getting started on the internet by building an ebook. They have clear, systematized instructions that assist the people involved in their membership site (OurInternetSecrets.com) everything they need to know in order to get started on several income streams. Both of them are generous with their knowledge and time. Seminars are held regularly in order to hone in on each aspect of creating an online business, the essence of how it is all done.

Mal himself was great, truly a man that knows his emotional direct response marketing. He has so many creative and clever ideas to use to drive customers to any business’s front door.
By the time Sean was finished on Sunday I could feel the neuro-pathways being carved through my brain. It is the oddest sensation!

I have been studying my notes and the material I purchased from Sean ever since we come home. My daughter even stayed home from school just to get some of this down while it was fresh. The opportunities that have been presented are amazing. I want to maintain the forward momentum.

I am looking forward to the next adventure in internet business. It is an exciting and innovative way of creating a passive income. I promise to keep you posted as I progress through the system.

So, here is my questions today………………. Have you had your mind expanded lately? Have you made an effort to learn about something you are passionate or interested in– opened your mind?

See you later !

Why is my world so Wonderful?

I am fascinated each day at the experiences I have and the people I meet. I am regularly introducing one person to another, giving a reference to a business and linking people together. So I have decided to start that linking in a bigger way.

I am a member of Got Access.com a new online community platform. I will tell you how I found out about this. It all started while I was sailing on the bay......

The Joy of Capsizing
9 October 2008

Today I had one of those experiences Mal Emery calls “A life changing event” or a “Paradigm shift”.

I have sailed off and on all my life. As an adult I have become more enthralled with the idea of being on the water and participate in race management at the yacht club I belong to. The sailing school introduced “Ladies’ Sailing” session each Thursday morning while the kids are at school.
The first time the ladies met I was lucky to go out on a Farr 40. For those of you that aren’t familiar with boats – it’s a “biggun”. Wide across the beam and tall strong masts carrying massive sails that make an incredible amount of noise when the flap in the wind.

And even though this boat was big, while on it in winds of 15-20 knots and nice seas on a beautiful Queensland sunny day, I was still petrified of the boat capsizing (although at the time I did not realize it, that didn’t happen until today). There was very little chance of capsizing in those conditions and I have no problem with water, I am not afraid of it, I am a good swimmer and I like floating in it.

I didn’t understand the slight nervous energy I felt running through my body. I was exhausted when I got off the boat, but it wasn’t because I worked so hard, I was just so wound up. However, because I love the water so much I have continued to go out on the bay each Thursday if I could clear the day.

Through winter the winds on Moreton Bay are typically light. We have gorgeous sunny days that make the vivid blue sky look like it would last forever. From land and the water we are blessed with 7 islands within sight and it always reminds me I live on a tropical island in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.

These days we go out on a Precision 185. Lovely little boat with a self furling jib (front sails) and a generous main sail. It can take 5 adults comfortably. The Club purchased the boats for the sailing school to use. I really like these boats, and would have one myself for cruising around the bay.

The winds seemed high to me today. Having spent some time doing the race management through the year I have become used to the wind and rolling sea on the power boats and rubber ducks (inflatable rigid boats). My friend Jo said she was finally coming after not being able to come for many session before, there was no way I was going to chicken out, but I was definitely nervous. She jollied me along and we were joking that this was her first day to “ease back” into sailing.

Before we go out the instructor always does a briefing, we talk about the conditions and what we might need to do. Then he asked a couple of the new girls if they can swim. HE’S NEVER ASKED IF WE CAN SWIM BEFORE!

Bravely we went to sea. Okay, we sailed out of the harbor very much in control.
The instructor handled the boat easily and the little Precision 185 glided out of the harbor in no time. During the winter it can take 10 minutes just to go 10 metres because of the light winds, but today we were out into the bay and dealing with winds that were pretty high very quickly. Remember, we are “Learn to Sail Ladies” emphasis on the LEARN! Junior kept telling us what to do and reviewing what to do if a gust comes.

Green Island is always a temptation when we are out on the water. The white sandy beach and green bush make it look so inviting. We went through one tack (changing the direction we are going with the front of the boat), settled in again and sailed along. Jo and I discussed that it was hard to move through the boat with all of us on one side (because the winds were so high) and agreed I would go first. Then Junior decided we would tack again.

When we started to go into the tack I moved first on Junior’s word. Because of the way the boat was tipping it was hard to move across, Jo fair pushed my butt across the other side of the boat. I thought I was going to fall out the other side! Then I felt wind so strong in the sails and the boat tipping the other way. The next thing I know the boat is going all the way over in slow motion. I was hanging on, literally, to the side of the boat and everyone is in the water. Not me, I was hanging onto the boat with all the strength I have. I though, lucky I’ve been working out. I think I thought I could push it over onto its belly again, or ……

Jo was calling to me to let go and fall in the water away from the boat. It took some time but I did it and suddenly it was like I had let go of everything that has held me back from immersing myself into the internet business world. The water was wonderfully warm and quite nice to float in. I felt relaxed and it was as if … ah, so this is what it’s like, not so bad after all.

Then Junior told all of us to come around to the centerboard and climb up onto it to try to pull the bottom of the boat back into the water. He pulled and Jo pushed, finally I got myself out of the water and up on the gunnels (side) of the boat, clinging onto the centerboard. One by one the others tried to get a foothold on the boat we held onto and helped each other. Unfortunately the mast was stuck in the mud, as happens in the bay, it’s not very deep. We couldn’t pull it out or the boat over.

My muscles were shaking from holding onto the centerboard in the waves and I asked if it was ok if I dropped off. I did then Jo came off too, and we held onto the tow rope in the front and bobbed in the waves.

I realized on the way home, after a small beer for the “ditch”, that my fear of capsizing was an analogy for being fearful of jumping in and giving the internet business a go. Now that I have “jumped in” I can realize the support I am receiving from so many people and how grateful I am for their pushing (subtlety) from behind and pulling me up when I felt in over my head. And the most amazing thing is this has mostly been done via the web and emails, words of support, encouragement and generous knowledge being downloaded to me each day. I also realize this is what I am meant to do.

I am doing it, right now.

I have made the right decision to go into this, and yes I will succeed at this. Because I survived!
What a fabulous experience, I am a sailor!

Oh, and what happened next?

After we decided that the mast was stuck too hard in the mud, I let go and fell into the water again. Jo followed; we both grabbed a rope and held on while floating on our backs. Quite relaxing!! Carrie climbed up on the side of the boat, which was the part in the air, and kept watch for our rescuers.

Meanwhile Junior went under the water and let the main sheet (rope to big sail) off and made it possible for the boat to stay righted once we got her up. Natalie had inflated her life jacket and joined us holding onto another rope. The other boat called past checking on us to make sure they could see five heads.

Jenny pulled up next to us, assessed the situation and proceeded to do a textbook rescue, pulling three us into the rubber duck so that Jo could join Junior and Carrie on the boat once we had her righted. My heart was pounding from all the excitement and exertion, but the exhilaration overcame any feelings of fear.

I continued to feel charged and vibrating for the next several hours, in fact it is now 5:32 pm and I am feeling like my outlook has been changed forever!

What a great day.

So, have you ever just had to finally let go and immerse yourself into something?
